As part of the Middletown 350 celebration, Middletown Committeeman Gerry Scharfenberger will be giving a talk on the archaeological excavation he conducted at the 17th-century Old First Church.
The Old First Church housed the first Baptist congregation in New Jersey and was also notable for its use as a hospital by the British Army after the Battle of Monmouth.
Old First Church is located in the Middletown Village Historic District on Kings Highway.
