Kitchen Fire Breaks Out In Middletown Senior Living Building

There was a fire in the Alice V. Tomaso Towers, the senior citizen apartment building in the Old Village section of Middletown.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ ? There was a fire Monday morning in the Alice V. Tomaso Towers, the senior citizen apartment building in the Old Village section of Middletown, according to the all-volunteer Middletown fire department.

Firefighters got a call of a kitchen fire at 8:33 a.m. Monday, reported by the apartment?s resident.

The fire was placed under control by MTFD Deputy Chief John Waltz at 8:50 a.m. All units were cleared from the scene at 12:00 p.m.

Approximately 30 firefighters from five companies of the Middletown Township Fire Department responded to the call from Belford Engine, Community, Belford Independent, Middletown Fire Company No. 1 and Old Village Fire companies. Additionally, the MTFD Air Unit, Fire Police and the Safety Unit also responded.

MEMS provided medical services. No firefighter injuries were reported.
