Lincroft Resident Faces Charges of Breaking Into 2 Houses, Theft

A Lincroft man has been charged with breaking into two nearby homes -- one on his own street. 

Matthew E. Drury, 28, of Emory Dr. was arrested on June 12 and charged with burglary for allegedly entering a house on Ryan Lane and stealing a wallet containing credit cards and several watches, valued at $700. 

On that same date, Drury is accused of criminal attempt for allegedly trying to enter a house on on Emory Drive with intention to commit theft. 

The two burglary charges, and charges of theft and criminal attempt were signed by Ptl. Antonio Ciccone III and Sgt. William Straniero of Middletown Township Police Dept. 

Both are considered crimes of the third degree. If convicted, a defendant may face 3-5 years in prison if convicted. 

He is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $35,000 bail, according the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office.

Drury is expected to make an initial appearance before a judge on June 23.
