Longtime Middletown Resident Dies at 77
She was fondly known as the Voice of the Visiting Nurses Association, where she worked for 57 years as an administrative professional.

Doris A. Septen, 77, of Red Bank, died on August 5, 2013 at her home. She was born in Long Branch, NJ and lived in the Middletown area her whole life. Doris worked as an administrative professional for the Visiting Nurses Association for 57 years. She was fondly known as the "Voice of the VNA."
Surviving are her niece, Debra Gell; her companion, George Daly; and her brother-in-law, Russell Gell.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma Septen, her brother, Frank Septen, and her sister, Marilyn Gell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 10 at 8 am at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Saturday, August 10 at 9:15 am at St. Joseph's RC Church, Maple PL., Keyport. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport.
