A Love Letter To Kelly Hurlbut

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Matthew Davi’s love letter to his girlfriend, Kelly Hurlbut:

“Hello my name is Matthew Davi. My hometown is Middletown, New Jersey. Right now I am an active duty member of the Navy stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. I have been dating my girlfriend for a little over two years. We live together and love each other very much. I plan on proposing to her, and attached is the poem that I am going to read to her. At the end of the poem I will ask her to marry me.

I Was Gonna Tell You

In this poem,
I was gonna you about how much I love you,
Or the cute names we call each other like sweetie or boo.

I was gonna tell you about all the fun we always have,
Or that all I need is to see your smile to cheer me up when I’m sad.

I was gonna tell you that when we make love I am truly yours,
Or when we fight it usually involves me slamming doors.

I was gonna tell you that you make me the happiest man alive,
Or that all I need is you by my side to survive.

I was gonna tell you that you are incredibly strong,
Or that when I go somewhere, I love it when you tag along.

I was gonna tell you that you are amazingly pretty,
Or that I love your sense of humor… You’re so silly!

In this poem,
I was gonna tell you so much more,
Or when you’re around me I feel like I can fly and soar.

But all this poem is about is the love I feel for you.
Through good times and bad; and all that we do.

I was gonna tell you that I will always be there for you, but that’s just a fact.
And like we always say… I’ll love you to the moon and back!

What this poem is truly about is how much you mean to me,
And as I get on one knee,
WILL YOU MARRY ME????”
