The Love Story Of Sara And Joe Kane
A mother describes the serendipitous childhood meeting between her daughter and son-in-law.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Brenda Reamy’s story about how her daughter met her husband:
“My daughter, Sara Kane, and son-in-law, Joe Kane, have been married since 2012. They both went to Middletown North High School. But it wasn't until they viewed an old VHS tape of mine and saw the 1986 footage of the Little Miss/Little Mister Hazlet Swim Club that they realized their paths had actually crossed long ago. (My daughter was 1st runner up in the pageant.)
As she was watching the video with Joe, he commented that one of the kids looked like him. Then he said, "No, really...it really looks like me." After asking his mom if he was there, she said it most definitely was him, at 3 years old. (Joe was also a winner in the contest!) They have been married five years now and have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.”
