On Thursday, June 19, the League of Women Voters of Monmouth County will host a special public program important to Monmouth County?s future entitled:
?SHAPING MONMOUTH COUNTY'S FUTURE:
Understanding the NJ State Development & Redevelopment Plan?
The event takes place at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County located at 1475 West Front St., Lincroft, NJ 07738, and begins at 7 pm. Parking is on site. Doors open at 6:30pm. To attend the program please register here.
The featured speaker for the program is Walter C. Lane, PP, AICP, Acting Executive Director, NJ Office of Planning Advocacy.
The NJ State Planning Commission published a Preliminary Draft of The State Development & Redevelopment Plan in December 2024, updating the 2001 plan, and looking forward to 2050. This program will provide the public with an overview of the plan and a framework to start thinking about its implications for Monmouth County.
The challenge, acknowledged in the Executive Summary, is to encourage continued growth and development that is equitable and sustainable while also protecting New Jersey?s natural environment and addressing the challenges of climate change.
The complete draft plan can be accessed by clicking here.
