Middletown Fire Dept.: These Combo Smoke/CO Alarms Recalled
The nationwide recall has been placed for Kidde TruSense smoke alarms and their combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms.
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — The Middletown Twp. Fire Department wants to alert the community that about 226,000 smoke detectors and combination smoke-carbon monoxide detectors are being recalled because they may “fail to alert consumers to a fire.”
The nationwide recall has been placed for Kidde TruSense Smoke Alarms and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms.
These are very popular smoke detectors that were sold at Walmart, Home Depot, Menards, Amazon and other stores.

Specifically, they were sold between May 2019 and September 2020, according to a recall notice posted Thursday on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website.
The thing consumers should look out for is the name: Kidde TruSense Smoke Alarms, and also remember these are combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms. There are seven different models of this brand being recalled, and they sold for between $10 and $70.

No incidents or injuries have been reported, the notice said. However, the alarms have been found to fail to notify residents of a fire.
"Consumers should immediately contact Kidde for a free replacement alarm," the notice states.
"Consumers should keep using the recalled alarms until they install replacement alarms."
