Middletown Gets State Grant To Repave Holland Road

Middletown will be given $215,000 to make Holland Road improvements. The work will likely begin in 2020.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — The state announced last week that various Monmouth County municipalities will receive a combined $12.6 million in infrastructure grants from the New Jersey Department of Transportation — and Middletown was on the list.

Middletown was awarded $215,000 from the state to make Holland Road improvements.

The project will be part of Middletown's 2020 Capital Road Program, which will be designed over the winter, awarded in the spring of 2020 and constructed in the summer and fall of 2020, said Middletown's Director of Public Works Ted Maloney.

The Holland Road improvements include milling and paving of the road and replacing curbs and retaining walls as needed. Most likely there will be a partial closing of the roadway with traffic only allowed to pass in one direction during construction next summer and fall, said Maloney.
