Middletown Land Development Forum May 25

Any Middletown resident concerned about how to prevent overdevelopment is invited to the meeting May 25 at the Arts Center.

Middletown, NJ - Any Middletown resident concerned about how to prevent overdevelopment — while at the same time encouraging sensible growth — is invited to the upcoming Middletown Land Development Forum.

The public forum will be held Wednesday, May 25 at the Middletown Arts Center, 36 Church Street, at 7 p.m.

Mayor Gerry Scharfenberger will explore these issues and more at the meeting. Among the topics to be addressed are what the township has done to control growth, and how Middletown encourages healthy expansion of the commercial tax base and the redevelopment of underutilized or vacant sites. When he first took office in January, Mayor Scharfenberger told Patch how redevelopment of vacant and blighted lots was priority #1 this year. Read that interview here.
