Middletown Little League Advances In Big Win Over Lincroft
Middletown Little League 8/9-year-old team beat Lincroft Monday night and will play Bayshore Wednesday. Come out and cheer these local kids.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Fingers crossed, the Middletown Little League 8/9-year-old team is edging closer and closer to a state championship: They played and beat Lincroft Little League in a game Monday night, besting Lincroft 14-5.
Their next game will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday against Bayshore Little League. The winner of Wednesday night's game goes on to play in the state championship.
If you want to come out and watch Wednesday night, Middletown will take on the Bayshore Sharks beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the Bayshore field:

“This team was put together a week before the All-Star Tournament began," said Coach Mike Fastiggi, who has volunteered for Middletown Little League for the past eight years. "From day one they’ve been focused, hard working and determined on what they have to do."

"It’s great to see 8- and 9-year-old kids get along so well, which makes it so much easier for us coaches to do our job," he continued. "I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these young men!”
“We are so proud of our boys! Looking forward to the next game on Wednesday night," said co-coach JoAnne Briggs.
You'll recall that the 2018 12u Middletown Little League won the 2018 State Championship, a team that featured memorable players such as “Big Al” Delia, Dylan Briggs and Joey Wall. That team traveled to Cooperstown, NY and came tantalizingly close to competing in the Little League World Series in August of that summer, but lost in one of the final elimination rounds.
That 2018 Middletown team was coached by Gary Salerno.
"Big Al" Delia was also the Middletown kid who hit nationwide sports fame in 2018, when he was interviewed by Jimmy Kimmel and told him "My name's Big Al and I hit dingers."
