Middletown Prepares For Tropical Storm, High Tide Flooding
Heavy rains leading to flash flooding are possible Monday night through Tuesday night. A full moon tide on Monday will make tides higher.
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Middletown is preparing for the impending arrival of Tropical Storm Isaias.
Tropical storm force winds, which are defined as sustained winds of 39 to 73 mph, will likely start hitting along the Jersey Coastline starting Tuesday morning and into Tuesday evening.
Heavy rains leading to flash flooding are possible from Monday evening through Tuesday evening. A full moon tide on Monday will make tides higher than normal.

There will be wind gusts up to 50-60 mph and are expected to peak late afternoon and into the evening on Tuesday. Several rounds of high tide flooding are expected and the storm surge will be around two to three feet, according to the Middletown Office of Emergency Management.
If you live in an area that is prone to flooding, the town asks that you move your car to higher ground. If necessary, you can park at the Middletown Train Station parking lots.

Middletown may close some roads due to flooding, but did not say which roads yet.
