Middletown ShopRite Now Open In Its New Home
The Middletown ShopRite is now located in the Kings Commons shopping complex, on Rt. 35 south. It opened at 7 a.m. Wednesday.
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — The Middletown ShopRite opened in its new home on the "other" side of Rt. 35 this morning (Wednesday, June 23).
The Middletown ShopRite is now located in the Kings Commons shopping complex. This is the Saker ShopRite owned by the Saker family.
Their new 91,624 -square-foot location opened at 7 a.m. Wednesday with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

The ShopRite relocated to the southbound side of Hwy. 35 at Harmony Road. It moved into the building formerly occupied by the Middletown Sears.
The Sears building had to undergo construction so the ShopRite could move in. For months, the Middletown community has been eagerly awaiting the construction to finish.

“We are excited to expand our offerings, especially our fresh prepared foods and gourmet grab-and-go meals, while providing all the quality, value and service our customers expect, "said Richard Saker, pesident and CEO of Saker ShopRites, Inc. "We also look forward to welcoming new tenants to the site to serve the Middletown community.”
It is not yet known which new tenants will move in alongside the new store. However, a 20,000 square- foot ShopRite Wine and Spirits store will open next to the new ShopRite.
The new location of the Middletown ShopRite will have the same amenities as the former, including the ShopRite bakery, with special occasion cakes and freshly made bread; a meat department with butchers; a seafood section with daily, fresh-catch deliveries; a nutrition center; a floral shop; full-service deli and produce department featuring a variety of organic and locally grown produce.
The new Middletown ShopRite will also house a grab-and-go prepared foods department with a selection of 1,000 freshly made items from both World Class Kitchens and Dearborn Farms, including an assortment of hundreds of cheeses from all over the world and a salad and olive bar.
Look for local favorite items such as Jones Bars, made in Manasquan; No Whey Vegan Chocolates made in Lakewood; Glenda’s Kitchen gluten-free, gourmet cookies, which are baked nearby in the Atlantic Highlands, and Grown in Monmouth plants from local farms like Louis Davino Greenhouses.
Saker ShopRites owns 32 ShopRite supermarkets, 30 pharmacies, and Dearborn Market in Holmdel. Additionally, the Saker organization owns, and or operates three liquors in the Monmouth County area. The fourth and fifth generation family-owned company employs over 9,000 associates and is the largest member-owner of Wakefern Food Corp., which is the largest retailer-owned supermarket cooperative in the United States.
