Middletown Teen Recognized for 4-H Presentation

Seven Monmouth County teenagers earned state recognition for their accomplishments in the 2013 State 4-H Public Presentations Program at Rutgers University’s Douglas Campus last month.

To qualify for the Rutgers 4-H Youth Development Program event, the teens had to receive an excellent rating at their County 4-H Public Presentation Contest in the spring. Rutgers then hosted 175 teens from 18 counties. Each teen gave an oral presentation on a specific topic.

4-H volunteers, staff, alumni and educators judged the presentations. Each participant received a rating of excellent, very good or good. The top presentation received an Outstanding Room Award.

• Kylie Taylor of Jackson, Topic: Cucumber Salad, Team Award: Good
• Erica Todd of Jackson, Topic: Cucumber Salad, Team Award: Good
• Joshua Todd of Jackson, Topic: How to Train Your Pokemon, Award: Very Good
