Middletown Woman Loses Dog, Last Seen In Hazlet

The dog was last seen Sunday near Add-On Pools on Rt. 35, and is still missing as of Monday afternoon, April 9, the owner told Patch.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A local Middletown woman is distraught because her dog, a rescue she just brought over from Sarajevo, has been running loose in Middletown and Hazlet for the past week.

The dog was last seen Sunday near Add-On Pools on Rt. 35, and has been seen on Palmer Avenue in Hazlet, and elsewhere. She is still missing as of Monday afternoon, April 9, Middletown resident Kristine Ling told Patch.

"I need all the sightings I can get so we can trap her," she said. "I just picked her up from Dulles airport in Washington last Saturday. She escaped the same night I brought her home. She came over from Sarajevo as a rescue and she runs in fear from people, putting her in even more danger."

Please don't feed her; it will prevent her capture, Ling said.

The dog is not aggressive. However, it is terrified and will bite out of fear if it is cornered. If the dog is approached, it will run as fast as it can in any direction, including into areas of heavy traffic. Someone saw the dog running in heavy traffic on Highway 35 in Middletown, Holmdel police said.
