Monmouth Museum, Twin Lights, Holmdel Theatre Co. Get Grants

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Twin Lights Historical Society, Holmdel Theatre Company and the Monmouth Museum in Lincroft are just some of the Monmouth County non-profits that received grants to help them recover from the pandemic shutdowns and huge loss of revenue last year.

They received:

• Twin Lights: A $9,600 grant
• Holmdel Theatre Company: A $36,000 grant
• Monmouth Museum: An $8,500 grant

It remains to be seen what these beloved local arts institutions will do with the money, but stay tuned.

The grants were given out by the New Jersey Arts and Culture Recovery Fund, which awarded $1.3 million to more than 60 nonprofits across the state, as they work to recover from the devastating effects of the pandemic.

COVID shuttered venues and forced furloughs and layoffs of more than half of New Jersey's creative workforce. The state’s nonprofit arts industry reported pandemic-related losses of more than $100 million as of December 2020.

The New Jersey Arts and Culture Recovery Fund was established last year with a gift from the Grunin Foundation, based in Toms River. Merck pharmaceutical company is a leadership donor, as is the 1772 Foundation and Turrell Fund.
