David Angel Oquendo, 22, of Port Monmouth, passed away suddenly on October 24. He was a United States Marine.

David Angel Oquendo, 22, of Port Monmouth, passed away suddenly on October 24, 2014 in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

David was born on October 22, 1992 in Brooklyn, New York. After his family relocated to Port Monmouth, David graduated from the Middletown North High School. He then enlisted in the United States Marines where he spent the last four years.

David was known to be very respectful, generous, and caring to all that knew him. He was especially helpful to anyone that was in need of a hand. David loved playing video games, and really enjoyed shooting, and most of all, spending time with his family.

David is the beloved son of his parents Eriber and Iris. He is also the devoted brother of Kevin, and CJ. David is also the loving grandson of Ada Sepulveda and Angel Collazo, as well as being the cherished nephew of Angel Collazo Jr.

David was honored at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1735 Route 35 in Middletown on Sunday, November 2.
A mass and Christian burial took place at St. Mary’s Chapel on Monday morning at 10:30 a.m., with full military honors and interment at Fairview Cemetery in Red Bank.
