Born in Jersey City, Nelson G. Mathison of Port Monmouth was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary's in Middletown.
Nelson G. Mathison, 92, of Port Monmouth, died on August 11, 2014, he was born in Jersey City. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Middletown.
Surviving are his sister, Joan Lopes and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
Nelson was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Mathison in 1989; brothers, William and James Mathison; sisters, Cecilia Smith, Rita Spencer and Loretta Maclennan.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 9:15 am at St. Mary’s Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd., Middletown. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
