Obituary: Patricia Ann Mauro (nee Leake): 79, CCD Teacher, Eucharist Minister, Beloved Grandmother
Patricia Ann Mauro (nee Leake) of Middletown was a daily communicant at St. Mary's Parish in New Monmouth and active participant in church.

Patricia Ann Mauro (nee Leake), 79, of Middletown, NJ, entered into eternal rest on September 7, 2014 surrounded by her loving children. She was born in West New York, NJ and lived in Bloomfield and Verona before moving to Middletown 36 years ago. Surviving are daughter Susan and son-in-law Harold Olafson of Malvern, PA, son Michael and daughter-in-law Mary of Lincroft, NJ, son David and daughter-in-law Erica of Redding, CT and daughter Karen of Middletown; and grandchildren Matthew, Christine, Daniel, William and Michael Mauro and Kathryn Olafson. She is also survived by sister Judith Johnson and her husband Richard, brother Robert Leake and his wife Lucretia, sister-in-law Cecilia Buck, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Philip, her parents Eugene and Helen, and her brother and sister-in-law William and Anita.
Patricia graduated from Bloomfield High School and worked for the Sherwin-Williams Company for several years before starting a family. She was a daily communicant at St. Mary’s Parish in New Monmouth and actively participated in many parish ministries including the Rosary Altar Society, Divine Mercy and the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. She taught CCD and served as a Eucharistic minister for many years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, as well as all of her friends from St. Mary’s.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 12 at 9:30 am at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at10:30 am at St. Mary’s Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd., Middletown. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
