Rabid Raccoon Found In Middletown Last Friday, Twp. Says

Last Friday, Aug, 25 Middletown Animal Control responded to a call for a sick raccoon in the area of Atlantic and Navesink avenues.

Last Friday, Aug, 25 Middletown Animal Control responded to a call for a sick raccoon in the area of Atlantic and Navesink avenues.

Animal Control officers captured the raccoon, killed it and sent its carcass to the state lab. That is the state protocol when an animal is suspected to have rabies.

Results came back Wednesday of this week, Aug. 30 that the raccoon was positive for rabies.
