Violin Virtuoso Raphael Klayman to Appear at WPC in Middletown

Music From Westminster Series Features Violin Virtuoso Raphael Klayman Benefit Concert

Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) will offer a special afternoon of Classical violin music on Sunday, May 5th at 3:00 pm when it hosts a concert featuring world renowned virtuoso Raphael Klayman.

A native New Yorker, Klayman has performed extensively both in the US as well as internationally. He’s shared his music with audiences through radio, television, concerto performances with orchestras, and innumerable recitals. Solo highlights have included an appearance at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C and he’s performed chamber music in a number of venues, including New York's Merkin Hall. Although he specializes in classical music, which will be the focus of his WPC concert, he’s also been very active in popular music. He has worked with Tony Bennett and was invited to be Concertmaster for a Broadway tour of "Miss Saigon". He also served as Concertmaster for Ray Charles, Regis Philbin and Clay Aiken and appeared in an award-winning music video with Rascal Flatts.

WPC’s Director of Music, Erika Sayar, has become a local pioneer in developing innovative church based programs that feature diversified music events from Contemporary Christian music coffee houses to faith based music festivals, to classical recitals and concerts. According to Sayar, “Seeing Raphael Klayman perform locally in an intimate surrounding like the WPC Sanctuary is a rare opportunity for any music lover, Classical or otherwise to experience. The exciting program he has prepared will include music of Beethoven, Bach, Kreisler and much more”.
