NJ Winter Weather Advisory, High-Wind Watch

A winter weather advisory has been issued for northern and central New Jersey, from Monmouth County to the north.
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued the advisory for a wintry mix of freezing rain and sleet. The alert is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday in most areas of North and Central Jersey, though it expires at 5 p.m. in Middlesex and 4 p.m. in Monmouth.
A high-wind watch is also in effect in some areas of the state, with gusts approaching 60 mph.

Here is what the National Weather Service is saying:
* LOCATIONS...Portions of north central New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.

* HAZARD TYPES...Freezing rain and sleet.
* SLEET ACCUMULATIONS..Less than one inch.
* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...around a trace.
* TIMING...A mixture of freezing rain and sleet will fall into this afternoon. Precipitation will transition back to rain early this afternoon before tapering off during the early evening hours.
* IMPACTS...Ice and snow accumulations may create slippery conditions on roads...bridges and sidewalks.
* WINDS...East 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
* TEMPERATURES...In the low to mid 30s.
The following weather-related incidents and speed restrictions are also in place:
- Speed restriction on the New Jersey Turnpike in both directions from north of Interchange 14 - I-78/US 1&9 in Newark to George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee 45 miles per hour, due to maintenance salting activities.
- Weather related conditions on Skyline Drive in both directions between Ringwood Avenue and I-287. All lanes closed.
- Disabled vehicle on the Garden State Parkway northbound North of Exit 80 - CR 530 in Berkeley Twp. Left lane blocked.
- Speed restriction on the Garden State Parkway in both directions from South of Exit 124 - Main St in Sayreville to New York State Line in Montvale 45 miles per hour due to roadway conditions. Districts are salting.
