WPC’s Crossroads Coffeehouse To Serve Up Great Faith Based Music

Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) will offer another evening of exceptional Contemporary Christian Music at the Crossroads Café on Friday March 22nd at WPC’s Community Center in Harlan Hall from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. The idea to open a coffee house to encourage people to use music to help express their faith and spirituality began brewing at WPC two years ago when its Minister of Music, Erika Sayar suggested starting an event to showcase both well-known and up and coming local musicians who focus on original and popular pop, rock, and praise and worship music.

There are few venues that regularly offer Contemporary Christian music entertainment, which has become widely and wildly popular over the past decade. WPC’s Crossroads Café has now become a recognized venue for musicians from Central New Jersey to showcase and fine-tune their faith-focused music talents.

The March menu of the Crossroads Café will feature popular local Christian vocalist Dave Miller. Gifted with a powerful voice, Miller started his musical venture at the age of five, singing in a local church choir. Music has been a big part of his life ever since. It was in college that one of his track teammates introduced him to Jesus and he began signing and writing songs to convey the message. Also on the bill is Oracle, a North Jersey based band that’s been playing uplifting faith-centered music since 2002, with a blend of rock and soothing ballads. The band’s seasoned musicians have joined forces to present the music of singer/songwriter Mark Caplan.

According to WPC’s Sayar, “People are looking for a break from the busy pace and pressure of life. Music can help them take their mind off the material world and lets them enjoy a peaceful, even spiritual experience. We encourage people to come check out Crossroads Cafe and experience and enjoy new music with a message."

The March 22nd lineup promises a unique evening of uplifting entertainment. Doors open at 7:00 and music begins at 7:30. Crossroads Café is free as one of WPC’s Gifts to the Community. No reservations or tickets needed but tables fill fast. Complimentary Holy Grounds coffee and light refreshments will also be available and there’s ample parking in the rear WPC lot next to Harlan Hall.
