Banner Revealed for History-Making Girls Tennis
No team in Mustang history has made it as far as the tournament of champions.
For the first time in school history, Montville Girls Tennis won the State Group III Championships.
Third-seeded Montville defeated sixth-seeded Glen Ridge 5-0 on Oct. 20, but fell to second-seeded Haddonfield 4-1 two days later.
Despite their loss, “this is the furthest that any sport in Montville (history) has ever been. No team has ever gotten into the Tournament of Champions,” said Coach Ken Sachs.

To recognize the team, there was a high school clap-out and MTHS Mustangs tweeted a sneak peek of their championship banner recently.
