Dog Run Over, Killed By Dirt Bike In Montville: Police
Montville police are asking for help with this "senseless, horrific act."
MONTVILLE, NJ — Montville Township Police are asking for the public's help, after a family dog was run over and killed by a dirt bike last weekend.
On July 8 around 4 p.m., a resident was walking his dog near 2 Ward Witty Drive, when a dirt bike began driving towards him. Police say the dirt bike drove fast and close by the resident, striking the dog and continuing without stopping.
Despite lifesaving measures, the dog died from its injuries. Zhaba was a 12 year old pug who weighed about 21 pounds, his owner told police.

Police say the dirt bike came from the Stoney Brook Road area. An ATV following the dirt bike stopped on Ward Witty Road, turned around and went back to the Stoney Brook Road area.
The dirt bike was yellow, and the driver was a teen male, the resident told police.
