Double Fatal Crash In Montville: Officials

An investigation is underway into a double-fatal crash that took place this weekend in New Jersey, officials said.

MONTVILLE – An investigation is underway into a double-fatal crash that took place this weekend in New Jersey, officials said.

The rear-seat passenger of a Saab, a 93-year-old woman from Hallandale, Fla., was pronounced dead at the scene of the Friday night crash. The two other occupants of the Saab were injured and transported to Morristown Medical Center, according to the Morris County Prosecutors Office.

The two occupants of the Nissan were transported to Morristown Medical Center. A passenger of the Nissan, an 85-year old man from Totowa, was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the MCPO.

The crash happened at 7:29 p.m. when Montville Police responded to the intersection of Route 202 and Heritage Court on a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation revealed that, east of the intersection, a 2009 Saab and 2016 Nissan had collided.

The accident is under investigation by Montville Township Police Department Traffic Bureau, Morris County Prosecutor's Office and Morris County Sheriff's Office.
