Flood Watch, Freezing Rain Alert for Montville Township

With icy roads and snow, the rain and flood watch for the area means slick roads so take precautions while out and about.

The National Weather Service issued a freezing rain advisory for Friday night with slick roadways and icy sidewalks due to freezing rain.

There’s also a flood watch “in effect from Saturday morning through late Saturday night,” according to the NWS. “On Saturday, rain is expected, heavy at times, along with the chance of thunderstorms. Event precipitation totals are expected to average between 1.5 and 2.0 inches. The combination of ice jams and heavy rain runoff could lead to flooding of creeks and rivers in the area. Expect poor drainage flooding to impact travel on Saturday.” “Flooding on creeks and river might last into Sunday if heavy rain occurs … Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.”
