Hiker Rescued By Boat On Pyramid Mountain In Morris County

The victim was carried out through the Boonton Reservoir

MONTVILLE, NJ — An injured hiker on Pyramid Mountain was rescued Monday afternoon, and carried out by boat, according to police.

The victim was hurt in the leg while hiking and was not severely injured but required assistance getting out hiking trails, said Police Chief Andrew Caggiano.

After stabilizing the victim, first responders decided it would be safest to exist using a rescue boat, via the Boonton Reservoir. The victim was then taken from the woods to a nearby hospital.

The Montville Police Department, Fire Department, and First Aid Squad were called to the scene, as well as the Kinnelon Fire Department.
