Montville Joins Ranks Of Tree-lined Cities Across The U.S.

The Arbor Day Foundation named Montville, NJ a 2015 Tree City USA.

Montville, NJ is once again a proud member of Morris County's tree-lined cities. It got the stamp of approval from the Arbor Day Foundation recently, after meeting the foundation's requirements.

The Tree City USA program, celebrating 40 years this year, began in 1976 in a partnership between the Arbor Day Foundation, the U.S. Forest Service, and the National Association of State Foresters. It is a means by which cities and towns across the nation can push towards the advocation and sustainability of town greenery.

"Tree City USA communities see the impact an urban forest has in a community first hand", said Dan Lambe, President of the Arbor Day Foundation. "Additionally, recognition brings residents together and creates a sense of community pride, whether it's through volunteer engagement or public education."
