Montville Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting, Threatening to Kill Woman

A Montville man has been accused of sexually assaulting and threatening to kill a woman he was dating, according to Montville Police Chief Richard Cook and Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp.

Jason A. Condit, 31, was charged with second-degree sexual assault and third-degree terrorist threats.

Condit was in a “dating relationship” with a woman in March when he “allegedly forcibly engaged in an act of sexual penetration" with the woman and “threatened to kill her,” according to a statement released by the prosecutor's office.

Condit was arrested Tuesday and bail was set at $50,000 no 10 percent option, cash, bond or property, by Judge Stuart A. Minkowitz. Condit has been remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

The investigation remains active by the Montville Police Department—led by Detective Eric Brauchle—and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office—led by Detective Marshall Wang.
