Montville Marching Band Places 3rd in Yamaha Cup Competition

The Montville High School Marching Band won third place in the 2013 Yamaha Cup competition held at MetLife Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 5, competing in group 3 Open with three other bands.

The Mustangs finished with a score of 74.375.

The MetLife stadium drew large crowds throughout the day as 54 New Jersey High School bands competed, The rich variety of performances included a variety of brass, woodwinds and percussion instrumented music performed with high energy parade and color guard dance movements.

"The band had their best show of the season at Met Life Stadium. They walked off the field feeling excited about their accomplishments on the field. They truly played and performed quite well," said the Montville Performing Arts.

"We finished in 3rd place and received many great comments from the judges. We have so much to add to the show still so we’re excited to turn the show around yet another time before states in two weeks."

Also, the Montville marching band has seen success in previous competitions.
