MONTVILLE, NJ — Looking for the best restaurants in Montville to enjoy a good meal outside? Luckily there are plenty of options, whether it's a casual dinner for two, brunch with the family or just a quick bite by yourself.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, outdoor dining has been expanding — even during the colder months. Many eateries got creative during the winter, setting up indoor dining tents and even igloos.

But the days of needing shelter from the cold are waning, setting up the chance for even more opportunities to eat al fresco in the coming months.

The patio is a restored part of the original station platform and the menu includes zesty battered fried green beans for an appetizer and porterhouse for a main.

Fasil Mediterranean Restaurant, 308 Wootton St Ste 1, 973-917-3334: Fasil's authentic Turkish Mediterranean cuisine includes dishes like Lamb Shish Kebab Platter, Yogurt Chicken Kebab, and Shrimp Kebab.

Houlihans, 1735 US Highway 46, 973-334-4900: With two patios, Houlihans has plenty of space for an outdoor meal. Chose from a variety of burgers, sandwiches, and party platters.

Red Barn, 446 Main Rd Towaco, 973-316-5686: Daily specials are posted on Facebook on this family-friendly restaurant. With over 50 years, Red Barn serves breakfast and lunch daily, with outdoor seating and takeout.

Tuscany Villa Ristorante, 223 changebridge road, 973-334-1400: There is everything from pasta to pizza, paninis, and grill to enjoy from the patio of this Italian restaurant.

Rails Steakhose, 10 Whitehall Road, 973-335-0006: This modern American steakhouse serves USDA Prime and CAB corn-fed beef, dry-aged a minimum of 28 days on-premise and hand-cut daily by Rail's butchers. In the raw bar selection, you'll find a mix of seafood offerings, including "the tower," which serves to six people.
