COMPUTER SCIENCE GAME DESIGNER CLASSES for Grades 4th to 7th. Beginner Levels.
The Montville Recreation Department will be sponsoring COMPUTER SCIENCE GAME DESIGNER CLASSES for Grades 4th to 7th. Beginner Levels.
ROBLOX GAME DESIGNER: Build Your Own City—In this course, students will continue to expand their game design skills as they build their own virtual Roblox city. They will use scripting to design aesthetic elements, like fully-functional streets with traffic lights, billboards with looping video, and more to design and build their unique virtual Roblox city using Roblox Studio.At the end of the program, students can publish their cities on the Roblox website so their friends can explore the world they created.
VIRTUAL CLASS REQUIREMENTS: To take part in the program, you must have a PC or Mac (not Chromebooks) with Webcam. Internet connection with access to Zoom. Roblox and Roblox Studio must be installed.

MINECRAFT SPACE DISCOVERY JOURNEY—Students collaborate and experience Minecraft with an outer space twist! They learn about basic Minecraft mechanics and the wonders of space discovery. Throughout the class, students have several objectives such as finding different roles and working together to fix a crash landed spaceship to prepare for blast off. Through all of their endeavors, there will be quizzes, challenges, and puzzles to help the space explorers develop social, critical thinking and problem solving skills and experience the mysteries beyond our home planet!
VIRTUAL CLASS REQUIREMENTS: To take part in the program, you must have a Windows or Mac (not Chromebooks) with Webcam. Internet connection with access to Zoom. Need PC Java edition. IF YOU DO NOT ALREADY HAVE IT you will need to download Minecraft mc version at: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/ (Cost: $26.95 ON YOUR OWN)
