Teen Hit By SUV While Walking To School Bus In Montville: Police

The teen was walking to their bus when they were hit before school Wednesday morning, police said.

MONTVILLE, NJ — A teen was struck by an SUV walking to the school bus on Wednesday morning, Montville Township police said.

A 17-year-old student was crossing the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Virginia Road at 6:43 a.m. to get to their bus when they were struck. According to police, the bus was stopped and had its warning lights activated.

Police say a Subaru Forester driving north on Vista Road drove through the intersection and hit the teen. The teen was taken to Morristown Memorial Hospital for evaluation and was released later that day.

The driver of the SUV stayed on scene, police said, and is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing. The Morris County Sheriff’s Office and the Traffic Division of the Montville Township Police Department were both on scene this morning.

Police did not release the name of the teen or the driver.
