Truck Carrying Machinery Rolls Over in Montville

A truck carrying machinery rolled over Thursday afternoon while making a turn on Chapin Road, police said.

The accident occurred near 19 Chapin Road across from the entrance to the Montville Corporate Centre in Pine Brook.

"(There was a ) truck carrying a ... very heavy piece of
industrial machinery ... that was top heavy," Montville Police Capt. Rudy Appelmann said. "As the vehicle turned, the load shifted and the truck rolled over."

A 1994 Ford F350 dump body is registered to the driver Robert Boateng of Lakeview Avenue in Paterson.

"He was making a left turn off of Riverside Drive onto Chapin road when the truck rolled over. The passenger Adu Justice also of Paterson complained of shoulder pain but refused medical attention once the Montville First Aid squad arrived on scene," said Appelmann. "The driver/owner was issued two summonses, careless driving and loading as to spill."
