30 Mailboxes Damaged Amid Morris Twp. New Year's Mischief: Police

Morris Township police want to know who rang in the new year by knocking over mailboxes and a street sign.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Morris Township police want to know who rang in the new year by damaging dozens of mailboxes and a street sign.

Authorities found about 30 mailboxes damaged on Fieldstone Drive and Buckley Hill Road. Someone also knocked over a street sign at the intersection.

Police believe the damage occurred New Year's Eve or early New Year's morning — possibly around 2 a.m. Anyone with information can contact Morris Township police at 973-539-0777 and then press 0 to speak with the dispatcher.

Morris Township police also asked residents in the area to check their camera footage for suspicious activity.
