Boil Water Advisory Lifted In Morris and Hanover Townships, Precautionary Measures Suggested

The boil water advisory for Hanover and Morris Townships has been lifted.

The Southeast Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority has lifted the boil water advisory as of 7 p.m. Monday night. The advisory was issued after a water main break that occurred early Saturday morning near Morristown Airport.

"The results of the water quality tests have been reviewed with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection who has approved rescinding, or lifting, of the boil water advisory," read a SMCMUA press release.

However, SMCMUA still urges citizens in the affected area to exercise a few brief precautionary measures before consuming the tap water.
