Morris Plains Council Candidate Wins Congresswoman's Support

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ (Aug. 12, 2020)--Morris Plains Borough Council candidate Cara Parmigiani has earned the endorsement of Rep. Mikie Sherrill, who represents Morris Plains as the Congresswoman for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District.
“Local government has never been more essential,” Rep. Sherrill said in a statement announcing her endorsement of local government candidates across the 11th district. “These women and men understand New Jersey values and will fight every day for their communities,” Sherrill said.
Parmigiani is an attorney in private practice and small business owner in Morris Plains. A young mother, she is running on a platform to support and enhance Morris Plains’ small businesses and downtown community, and to give the young families and parents in the borough a voice in town government.

“I am so grateful to have earned the support of Congresswoman Sherrill, who shares the values of community that make Morris Plains such a desirable place to raise a family and serves our district with tireless advocacy,” Parmigiani said. “Local government is facing many new challenges and responsibilities, and it is reassuring to have Congresswoman Sherrill fighting for us. I look forward to working with her to navigate Morris Plains successfully through the uncertainty we are facing right now and into a prosperous future,” Parmigiani said.
Parmigiani is running on the Democratic ticket in Morris Plains’ municipal elections on Nov. 3.

ABOUT CARA PARMIGIANI
Cara Parmigiani is a third-generation small-business owner whose family has been connected with downtown Morris Plains for over 76 years. Cara has appeared as an attorney in 15 New Jersey counties in most divisions of the Superior Court. She has also appeared before various planning boards, zoning boards and municipal courts. Cara provided guidance for a Municipal Master Plan re-evaluation and served on a local Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. Cara is a graduate of Rutgers University and Seton Hall Law School. She lives with her wife and daughter in Morris Plains.
