Families Affected by Disability Invited to Advocacy Conference

Nationally-recognized parent advocates and leaders will share strategies

Morristown, NJ – The Alliance of Private Special Education Schools in Northern New Jersey is proud to announce their 6th Annual Conference, Resource Expo and Job Fair taking place on the campus of St. Elizabeth College in Morristown. In collaboration with St. Elizabeth College and the Regional Family Support Planning Council, this year’s conference themed, ‘Advocating for Effective Services’, is designed to deliver tools and information to secure the best outcomes for students with disabilities.

This free event will feature a number of professional speakers including Dr. Bobbie Gallagher, the parent behind the Autism CARES Act signed into law last year, which addresses the problem of aging out and provides funds for support programs. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet 1:1 or in a small group with New Jersey’s Ombudsman for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and their families.

Throughout the event, attendees can take part in the Resource Expo which includes state-approved schools for students with disabilities, nonprofit providers, camps, advocacy resources, adult services agencies, therapies, ABA providers, recreational services, financial and legal resources and more.

The conference will take place on Saturday, April 4th at the Annunciation Center on the college campus, 2 Convent Road in Morristown from 8:30 am -1:00 pm. The event will conclude with a door prize drawing for a Chromebook and other prizes.
