Minor Earthquake Shakes Morris Plains

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ— A minor earthquake shook the Morris Plains area Saturday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The small earthquake was centered just under a mile north of Morris Plains around 1:45 p.m. It had a magnitude of 1.3 on the Richter scale. Earthquakes that small are not always felt.
Morris Plains Police said there were no reported injuries or damages as a result.
