In February, discover algae balls. Is it a plant or is it more? Meet with other plant lovers, get your hands dirty, plant a new kind of interesting, creepy, unusual, or rare plant, and learn how to take care of it. Pick up supplies at Frelinghuysen Arboretum.

Monday, Feb. 1, 4-4:45 p.m., Virtual. Ages 6 – 12. Cost: $10 per child. Preregistration is required. Register here. For more information, call 973.326.7601.

Virtual Lunch and Learn: Beauty in the Books

Join Curator Melanie Bump as we take an artistic look at the books. Books, in their own right, can be considered works of art, and using an aesthetic eye we will explore the artistic nature of the Elizabeth B. Kay Rare Book Collection. Contained within the rare books are tiny exhibitions of gorgeous drawings, illustrations, prints, and works of art. Through this special look, we will see the stunning, beautiful, and artsy side of the rare book collection.

Thursday, Feb. 11, from noon to 12:45 p.m. Cost: $10 per person. Register here. Preregistration is required. For more information, call 973.326.7601. The program is geared toward adults.
