Morris Plains Top Cop Calls It A Career
Jason Kohn retired after more than a quarter century serving Morris Plains.
MORRIS PLAINS, NJ - For the first time in over 25 years, Morris Plains will no longer have Jason Kohn watching its back.
The longtime officer and Morris Plains Police Chief retired Friday, after more than a quarter century of service to the borough. Kohn started on the force as a dispatcher in 1994. He then moved up to patrolman and was eventually assigned to the detective bureau.In 2012 he ascended to sergeant and ran the bureau, replacing Ed Dobbins who retired.
Two years later be became top cop, succeeding Scott Thompson.

On Friday, at the end of his shift, Kohn was presented with a retirement walkout who lined the path outside police headquarters with well-wishers.
Lt. Michael Koroski, commander of the Patrol Division, will serve as acting chief.
