Morris Township Makes List Of Safest NJ Towns For 2020
Alarms.org looked at violent crime rate as part of its 2020 rankings.
MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Morris Township was named one of the safest municipalities in New Jersey in a 2020 ranking.
Alarms.org released it annual list of the safest cities in New Jersey recently. Morris Township clocked in at No. 52 on the list.
Morris Township had six violent crimes reported and 120 property crimes. With a population of 22,183 Morris Township has a 5.68 crime rate per 1,000 and with 39 officers Morris Township has a law enforcement rate of 1.76 per 1,000.

To identify the safest cities, the site reviewed the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report statistics. They eliminated any cities that failed to submit a complete crime report to the FBI and cities with populations under 10,000. This left 3,381 cities (out of a total of 9,251). For the third year in a row, River Vale is the safest municipality in New Jersey. The Bergen County township logged a single violent crime, and less than 25 property crimes.
