Morris Twp Police Cracking Down On Speeding

As the weather gets warmer, the speeds get higher— and police are cracking down.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Morris Township police are cracking down on speeders as the weather gets warmer, police said on Monday.

As temperatures rise, so do car speeds, Chief Mark DiCarlo. Recent residential complaints have centered around Skyline Drive, Western Avenue, Canfield Road and Fairmount Avenue. Although some might complain about drivers cutting through residential neighborhoods to get to the highways, DiCarlo said that's not typically the case.

"While some of these roads may be cut throughs for motorists, historically we find that a majority of the speeders are usually Township residents from the neighborhood the complaint originates from," DiCarlo said.
