New Power Outage Hits Morris Plains

Breaking: Residents who lost power this morning must contact JCP&L.

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — A new power outage has hit Morris Plains as the second nor'easter in a week rolls through the county. Residents in the Mountain Way area lost power this morning, Morris Plains police said. Any resident who has lost power this morning should notify JCP&L directly of the outage.

Yesterday, only 45 Morris Plains customers were without power. Wednesday morning, that number has jumped to 354. Power is expected to be restored by Wednesday at 11:30 p.m., although the severity of Wednesday's storm could change that.

Power outages in Morris Township are down Wednesday morning. Tuesday, 557 homes were dark. Now, that number is 304. Power should be on by late Thursday night.
