Police Warn Of 'Scoundrels Prowling Our Streets' In Morris Plains

Authorities had to call off a chase due to excessive speeds.

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ - A high-speed chase for 'scoundrels' last week was called off for safety reasons, according to the Morris Plains Police Department.

Last Thursday morning the town "experienced scoundrels prowling our streets," according to authorities. The unknown suspects attempted to enter unlocked motor vehicles in the areas of Watnong Drive, Sylvan Drive, and Madison Ave, police said.

Officers attempted to stop a vehicle that was seen traveling in the area of Jaqui Avenue and Mayfair Road but was unable to keep up due to the excessive speeds, police said.
