MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — If you ever lose hope at finding love, just know that Prancer did it against all odds. The Second Chance Pet Adoption League's Chihuahua went viral after a painfully honest adoption post about all his negative qualities. But Prancer finally found a forever home.

After Prancer ascended to worldwide fame, the Morris Plains shelter received hundreds of inquiries and adoption offers from around the world. But Second Chance first needed to find a home without any of his dislikes: dogs, cats, men and children.

"His increased fame forced us to be even more discerning," the adoption center wrote on social media, "as we wanted to make sure someone didn’t want him just to use him for the publicity and media attention."

Then they found the one. Ariel had no pets or men in her home, so the Second Chance Pet Adoption League arranged a visit. She made a great first impression, showing up with a platter of Prancer's favorite foods and respected his space.

Meanwhile, the Second Chance Pet Adoption League will continue selling T-shirts with Prancer's face to raise funds for its other pets. The organization hopes Prancer's humorous story inspires other people to adopt "overlooked underdogs."

"The only solution is for more people to be willing to open their home to a homeless pet," Second Chance wrote, "especially the ones that take a little more effort, training, and time to bond and feel safe enough to show their true personalities beneath the fierce show they may put on at first."

Prancer went viral after a blunt post from Tyfanee Fortuna, his foster parent. She described the struggle of making Prancer seem "palatable" to adopters, describing Prancer as "demonic," "a neurotic mess" and "a traumatized Victorian child that now haunts our home."

Facebook users have shared Fortuna's Facebook post 73,000 times.
