Report: Grades 3 and 6 Most Improved Test Scores

Morris Plains District scored above state average for NJASK scores.

The Department of Education released Report Cards on Thursday for all public schools in New Jersey from the 2010-11 school year. The reports ranked the schools in categories for school environment, student information, school performance, staff information and district financial data.

In the Borough School and Mountain Way School, students in Grades 3 through 8 were scored partial, proficient and advanced for the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge (NJASK) standardized tests in lanugage arts and math.

For language arts, advanced placement increased in Grades 3, 4 and 6 from 2009-10. All grades placed above the state average.

For mathematics, the students that increased in advanced placement were Grades 3, 6, and 8, and all grades remain above state average as well.

Attendance rates at Borough School increased 0.2 percent and Mountain Way's stayed the same in comparison to the 2009-10 school year. Both schools' rates remain above the state average of 94.6 percent.

In the past three years, there have been no suspensions nor expulsions in both schools.

The number of administrators in the Morris Plains District and their salary remained the same from the previous school year. The faculty salary increasd a little more than $2,000 from the previous year.
