Super Wildcats: Morristown Youth Football Team Wins League Championship
Sixth-graders avenge prior losses with back-to-back playoff wins to capture crown.

Those losses to Summit and Westfield during the regular season left a bad taste in the mouths of 39 Wildcats. But they used that pain to fuel a fire that peaked at the right time.
Morristown’s Wildcats sixth grade football team beat Summit in the New Jersey Suburban Youth Football League championship recently, 19-12, after dropping the opening day contest to the same squad. The Wildcats avenged a mid-season loss to Westfield by beating that team in the semifinals, 13-0.
The championship game was fueled by running back Quron Lattimore, who scored twice and was named the Most Valuable Player. Teammate Lance Davis also got in on the action and score a touchdown as well.

On defense, tackle Benson Liu was a menace all game, recording four sacks.
“We had 39 young men on our roster who worked hard all season and peaked at just the right time to beat these two worthy opponents. They believed in themselves and in each other and recognized that if they stayed focused they could beat anybody. We are so proud of them! We can’t wait until next season,” said Wildcats Head Coach John Murphy in a statement.
