Tourne County Park Reopens After Raccoon Attack

The Morris County park has been reopened after being closed when a raccoon attacked a 76-year-old man.

After working overnight to trap four raccoons after one attacked a 76-year-old man Tuesday morning, Morris County Park Police have reopened Tourne County Park, according to a report on NJ.com.

Given the unprovoked nature of the attack, police were concerned that the raccoon was possibly rabid. The captured raccoons have been sent for testing, but police still urge park visitors to exercise caution and to remain vigilant. If any visitors see any animals acting odd or abnormally police advise them to steer clear.

The test results of the raccoons captured will be available this week, according to NJ.com.
